I first came upon the issue shortly after putting this system together and windows only recognized 24gb (32 installed) of ram in system info.I discovered in bios that channel C (slots c1 and c2) are read as "abnormal" indicating a RAM error.

If I slowed down the memory bus somehow, maybe the memory controller could then handle all 8 DIMMs. So I put 2 PC2-4200F 1GB DIMMs (DDR2-533 FB-DIMMs) in RAM slots 1 & 2.
